Discovery Trail Walk
The Trail walk will start at the flag pole and will be done in two stages; the over achievers and the smart campers.
Over achievers will depart from the flagpole at 10:30 for an adventure that will guide them through the entire trail system for about 4km (Over stage 1 & 2). In approximately 1 hour they will return to the flagpole to pick up the smart campers. The combined group will continue to the pre-determined picnic area (stage 2), the Bistro.
At 11:30 the smart campers are to wait at the flagpole to join the over achievers and head directly to the bistro at 4 corners for a picnic lunch. This leg of the journey is approximately 1.5 km round trip and although direct, it is not going to happen without trudging up the SS landscape, which we all know is not all at sea (lake level).
Along the way there will be a series of plants and bushes identified for you to observe and look up at a later date, bring a pen / pencil to mark on your map where you see these posters.
Let's all be mindful of our rules ... photographs are not permitted on the property. Let's have fun, enjoy some time out in the sunshine, and have a picnic with our friends that we don't see often enough.
P. S. Bring your own lunch, blanket, beverages, and pack out your waste. We encourage good footwear as well.
Remember we share the forest with wildlife (bears, cougars, elk, deer & ticks), be aware and be prepared.
